Airside is the domain of the actual aircraft at the airport and the many organisations that work with and alongside the aircraft. This area is a hub of activity 24/7. There are numerous interconnected processes, and a number of important rules apply aimed at keeping everything running smoothly. That's why we have special safety training courses for staff who work on and around the piers and runways.

E-learning Safety & Security/module Platform (including General)

Register for the e-learning if you need a Schiphol pass with apron authorisation. After completing this training course, you will be familiar with Schiphol's safety and security rules, you will know the most important safety risks and what to do in the event of unsafe situations and incidents.

Push-back examination (theory)

To be allowed to push-back aircraft at Schiphol you will need the required documents. After completing a practical push-back training course at your employer, passing this theoretical exam will demonstrate that you understand how to carry out a push-back manoeuvre safely.

Push-back examination (practical)

Once you have passed your push-back theory examination, you will need to take a practical examination. During this test, you will demonstrate that you are able to perform push-back manoeuvres independently. This practical examination is repeated every two years.

Towing examination (theory)

To be allowed to tow (as well as push-back) aircraft, you will need the required documents. After completing a practical towing training course at your employer, passing this theoretical exam will demonstrate that you understand how to carry out a towing manoeuvre safely.

Towing examination (practical)

Once you have passed your towing theory examination, you will need to take a practical examination. During this test, you will demonstrate that you are able to perform towing manoeuvres independently. This practical examination is subsequently repeated every two years.

Limited airfield authorisation training course

If you don't need to drive on the runways, you will only need limited airfield authorisation Following the training course, you will be familiar with all runways, taxiways and perimeter roads in your work area and be able to drive on them safely. You will also know how to use a mobile radio unit.

General airfield authorisation training course

You need airfield authorisation to drive on the air field. Having airfield authorisation is proof that you know your way around the airfield, are familiar with all aviation rules and are able to use the mobile radio unit correctly.

Airfield authorisation proficiency test A

If you have airfield authorisation to drive on the airfield, you will be required to take a proficiency test every year in order to retain that authorisation. Your airfield authorisation lapses on your birthday if you have not yet taken the proficiency test for that year. We therefore recommend scheduling the training course three months before your birthday.

If you have airfield authorisation to drive on the airfield, you will be required to take a proficiency test every year in order to retain that authorisation. Biennial VDGS Train the Trainers refresher session

This refresher course is mandatory if you are trainer of VDGS personnel at Schiphol. You will be required to take a theory exam and a practical proficiency test once every two years. If you pass, your VDGS training authorisation will be extended for two years.

Are you a trainer of passenger bridge operators at Schiphol? If so, you are obliged to take a refresher course with a practical proficiency test once every two years. If you pass, your passenger bridge training authorisation will be extended for two years.

Register if you are a driver in a vehicle on the platform areas. You will take both the THEORY and PRACTICE parts. Have you successfully completed both? Then you will receive a certificate valid for 2 years.
