Another thing to consider is that you may not be able to physically see the property prior to your wedding day depending on the location of the home rental, whether it’s in a town that you live in or maybe you’re trying to plan a destination wedding and having an airbnb in that destination, you’re probably not going to be able to see the space beforehand, so this could make things difficult as far as, you know, you know, you know, you know, scope out the yard, make sure that it’s level, make sure that there’s enough space for you, and make sure that the pictures are actually doing the property justice.

That’s a big concern, so if you are not able to physically see the location, if you can, maybe you know somebody in the area that can go look at it for you, or talk to the host and see if that’s something that’s even a possibility. If it’s a popular vacation rental, it might be booked up for a long period of time, which means you won’t be able to physically go onto the property. If it’s being rented by other people, you might be able to have them send you a article of the space and that might give you a little bit of a better idea of the space, and if it’s really true to what the photos are depicting, you should also be prepared to pay more for the home than what wedding article You’ll also have to do a lot more cleanup than you would at a wedding venue. This is because most wedding venues will have staff that can take care of that for you or you can pay extra to have them take care of that for you. You won’t have to tear down a lot of tables and chairs at a wedding venue, especially if they’re provided for you that sort of thing.

The last thing to consider is that when you’re getting married at an airbnb or some sort of private estate vacation rental, you’re going to have to bring everything in yourself, so there aren’t going to be tables and chairs linens lighting all of that sort of thing that you will find at a wedding venue is not going to be readily available at a rental home so those are all things you will have to bring in third party okay so once you’ve considered those things and decided that you still want to move forward with having an airbnb or vacation rental style wedding here are some tips to find the property that’s right for you and to ensure a successful airbnb wedding so number one l Make sure that you are asking for permission or just moving on entirely to find a location that will allow it. It’s also a good idea to look for properties that have other airbnbs nearby, so this way your guests can have accommodations nearby and you won’t have to worry about travel time too much. And especially if you’re choosing a place that’s a little bit more remote, maybe out of town a little, having other nearby locations where your guests can stay will help with that coordination a lot.

Another thing to look for in an airbnb for your wedding is space to get ready. Is there a space that’s going to have a lot of nice natural light for your getting ready photos? Is it big enough for you to have whoever you want to be getting ready with you? Also, is there a spot for you to stay overnight maybe the night before and the night after so that you can all be on site and get ready together? Also, with airbnb weddings, where your facilities are a little bit limited including the kitchen, it’s a good idea to consider if this is an option some sort of mobile catering or bar service?

So by mobile catering? This is a good opportunity if you have the space to have a food truck at your wedding. Typically, if you’re having an Airbnb wedding, you’re going to have a smaller guest count, which works great for food trucks. Additionally, there might be some options in the area for mobile bars as well.

I’ve seen beer trucks and campers that have been turned into bars, which is really cool, and that is a nice way to kind of bring everything in that you need without having to have a full bar set up, which may not be accessible or already available for you at a vacation rental. Something else to think about when looking at potential property options is photo ops and photo potential. If there’s a really pretty backdrop for your actual ceremony, that’s great, but are there other spots on the property to get all your portrait photos? Are there a lot of houses in the background? Are there not a lot of places to get a good variety of backdrops for your portraits?

Another super helpful tip for ensuring a much less stressful process when planning this type of wedding is to hire a coordinator. If you’re planning a small wedding, you don’t need to hire a full-on wedding pla
nner, but having a day of coordinator or a month of coordinator will really help with tying in all those last minute details because there are so many little planning items that go into hosting a wedding of this type at a vacation rental.
